So my shifter cable broke in half. Fine, got another one off an 82 or 83 Firebird. Now everything is all screwed up. I can't get into park, can't get down to 2nd. The neutral safety switch is all forked up. I can't start it unless I'm wiggling the shifter and have at the exact right spot. I think the cable that runs from the shifter to the column is either broken, or jammed or something cuz it won't turn the column when you shift. So I'm just going to replace the whole thing, plate, cables, you name it. Has anyone ever replaced that one cable that runs to the column from the shifter? I guess anyone with information regarding this whole area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks boys.
