? about changing valve guides
? about changing valve guides
Is is hard? When I do should I put new springs in? I just need to use the air compressor attachment for my spark plug hole, right?
How can you tell if you are burning oil because of your valve guides or rings?
Thanks
All help will be greatly appreciated

well, someone correct me if i am wrong, but what he is actually gonna be changingin the car is the valve SEALS right? to change the guides the heads need to be removed and have the old guids pressed out and new ones pressed in... but yes, the procedure you got is correct, pressurise the cylinder with air, to keep the valve up, yank the vlave springs, yank the seals, and then revrses with the new seals.....

to tell if your burning oil cuz of your seals, one check you can do, is run the car, get it good and hot, then let it sit till it is cold, then pull the plugs... if they are wet/oil coated, then that is a good indication... otherwise, if it is rings, the smoke would not go away after running a few minutes at the most... i know within one mile of driving my car it will burn everything off... also, try using a heavier weight oil like 10w 40, i know that makes mine smoke very little when compared to when i accidentally use 10w30.. doh!
