junkyard etiquitte........not sure where to post it so i did it here

Like i said in the subject, I wasnt sure where to post this so i figured that a lot of the members in here go to boneyards and stuff that it would apply here.

**This isnt meant to **** anyone off, just some pointers to help us all out in the future**

I just got back from my local junkyard today where i picked up an entire interior from an 84 berlianetta(i mean entire too) for 100 bucks(it helps to know someone there ) the only problem that i noticed is that with a lot of the cars all the pieces have been broken when someone tried to get another piece out(for example,, you need a gauge cluster so you destroy the dash to get it......not good) i know this doesnt apply to everyone but lets try to be respectful and not destroy the entire car because you need a new ashtray. you never know when your gonna need that piece that you cracked for no reason and then your kicking you *** as you pay someone a lot more money for it later on.

just some food for thought, once again not meant to **** anyone off

**moderators if this isnt the forum for this just move it to where it should be, thanks**

i know what you mean, i hate going to yards to look for, what i think, to be the smallest, most unnoticable part ever, only to find that it has been demolished when the previous owner was trying to do something else.

I agree; that really pisses me off. Hell, if I have to move stuff to get at something, I'll usually put what I moved back! Like say I needed a fuel rail; I'd remove the upper plenum, take the rail, and then loosely bolt the upper plenum back on... but that's just me

Yeah I hear you I found the perfect center console with the correct color and got very excited as I had been looking for 8 months for the right one only to go to the otherside of the car to see the whole left side ripped out for what I couldn't even tell. So it cost me $95 instead of $30.

well i dont know if im glad that it isnt only me that notices this.. like i said before these parts are going to get more and more rare as the years go on. thats why i try to buy everything that i may need in the future just to be sure ill have it when i need it.

one more thing remember that if its possible make sure all the windows are up when you leave the car so that the interior isnt ruined by rain and ****... i dont know maybe its **** but i like to make sure all the windows are up and the car looks like i was never even there(i.e. there isnt a bunch of broken parts all over.)
