since i sold my third gen a little over a year ago, i've forgotten what under the hood looks like. i recently mounted one on my 74 camaro on the firewall... is there anyroom there? just FYI, they are built to be vibrated around---so it most likely wont be a problem, if you want to, get some small rubber hose, like fuel line, and cut 4 1/2 cm sections off of it to put between the box and what you mount it to(screw the screws through these)

Either drill mounting holes or fabricate a bracket. The msd comes with rubber isolators. If you don't use them, it will probably not last near as long.

i have mine mounted to the dash in side the car. i mounted one once where the battery sits, after the battery was moved to the rear. there is a tray one each side for a battery, would it fit there?

I used the rubber isolators with my MSD 6AL. Two of them were screwed directly to the car. The other two went to a bracket I made out of 1/16" steel; and the bracket went to the frame of the with regular self-cutting bolts.
I remember someone gave me the idea of laying a sheet of aluminum across the wiring behind the strut tower, bolting the aluminum to the car, and bolting the MSD to the aluminum. Then I found my spot (pass. strut tower, where coolant bottle was, I replaced the coolant bottle with a smaller version and put it elsewhere), and didn't use the idea.
