smog pump and o2 sensor
can some one tell me how is it that pumping fresh air into the manifolds dose not screw up the o2 sensor and how dose removing the belt off the smog pump efect the rest of the motor.

The air is routed to the manifolds primarily when the system is in open loop, so it isn't messing with anything.
I'm not sure about TBI or CC carb systems, but apparently TPI systems compensate for the extra oxygen when the air is routed to the manifolds under certain conditions by applying a factor to the voltage that it is reading. The primary routing, though, is the air going directly to the converter while in closed loop operation.

removing the smog pump dosen't affect the engine as much as it cleans up the engine bay. I removed my smog pump (per the tech article) and I like the effect it has. just my experiance (if you mean will removing it give any codes, no it won't)
