LG4 Fuel lines from gas tank. Question
Hi, while under my car yesterday I noticed the fuel lines coming from the top of my gas tank looked pretty bad. It appears that they come from the pick up from the top of the tank, then are attached to rubber fuel line, which is then attached to the metal lines that run the length of the car.
My car is a carbed 84 305 (LG4).
Any way, I was wondering how I can replace these lines (coming from the tank to the hose). Are the parts easily available? Will I need to replace the fuel pick up too? Id presume that I have to drop the tank (plus exhaust etc).
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

What is wrong with them? Rusted? Twisted? Crushed?
You should be able to either fabricate new from line stock, or find good ones in the junkyard - just make sure you get V8 lines, because the V6 are routed differently.

They are very rusty. They are probably very brittle, and look like they will crack if I mess with them. I would rather replace them now rather than forget about them, and have gas leaking onto my exhaust!
My first impression was that they had been salvaged from the bottom of the atlantic ocean. Thats NJ for ya!

Both my donor and driver cars were from Colorado. They've used plenty of salt on the roads around here, although these days they use mag chloride whenever they can. The lines on both cars were nearly pristine.
Buy some fuel line stock and replace yours. Routing over the transmission could get "interesting", removing the torque arm & driveshaft would aid access along the tunnel. I suppose you could remove the distributor cap and lower the transmission a bit to aid the process as well.
