Stalling during a warm startup

I am having a strange start up problem. I did a search but haven't come up with much. Mine will start fine when cold. It will also start fine if it only sits for a few minutes when warm. If it sits for 20 minutes or so, it will start, run rough and then die right away. It doesn't do this all of the time. If I play with the throttle right after it starts I can keep it running. After about 30 seconds or so then the idle smooths out and the car runs fine. It is a 305 TBI with new Blaster Coil, Wires, Plugs, PCV Valve and Open Element Air Filter mod. I have also pulled the IAC and cleaned the pintle. It seems to smell like it is running rich at startup whether it is cold or hot. Only getting an EGR code when running down the highway, no other codes. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Perform another search using the terms "injector" and "leak".

Monitor your fuel pressure after the car is turned off.

That EGR code you are referring to is telling you that either your EGR valve or EGR solenoid is not functioning properly.
In my case, 89 305TBI, it was the EGR valve. Replaced it, and no more codes.
Let me know how everything works out for you

If getting an EGR code replace it. Also could be CTS and check your fuses. just delt with an Expedition with same symptoms as yours would not idle but would run as long as you played with gas pedel. Turned out that ECM fuse was blown along with like 2 others. The cigerett lighter had went bad which caused fuses to blow. pulled out lighter and replaced fuses....car ran fine
