Heater Core?

Well I took the car out of storage about a week ago. Well I have been in and out of the car over the last week or so not driving it but working on it in the garage and I noticed there was coolant on the passenger floor. Well I took of the lower dash to see that the heater duct hooked to the heater core was missing a screw and thats where the coolant was coming from. Could this missing screw be causing me the leak? Or is the core toast? Is there anyway if I don't use the heater to not have to replace the heater core right now? to many expenses already on the car.

You can bypass the heater core by simply placing a pipe between the inlet and outlet hoses under the hood, that way, coolant can flow, but, not thru the heater core.

Yes, your heater core is toast....
