New member and had posted this under TPI section and no replys.
87 IROC 5.7 original owner car heavily modified engine,355
TPIS, Crane, SLP,MSD,Bowtie Alum Angle reworked heads.
Morrison Coil Over front, Brakes Baier,Global West ect.

Having to replace intank pump and wondering if anyone has
gone to external pump and what the setup would be as to
the pickup and sender setup would be in the tank. As not having
to go thru hassle of droping in my case custom exhaust ect, in
case of unexpected pump failure. If someone has done this , what
would be the best pump to use.

You would likely need to get a pickup/sender from an older design mechanical fuel pump cr, or alter the existing pickup to use hard suction line in place of the pump. I'm not certain what you might use for an inlet strainer in that case, however.

Thanks for reply, and about to drop the tank.
While I have it on the ground going check it out and see what
I can come up with. Installing solid pickup into cover no big
deal, just have to figure out sender.
Can always run Hi pressure filter between pump and tank,
put filter sock on tube pickup end.

Shessss maybe this the way to go!
