383 Rod Clearance?

What do you guys recommend for a 'Minimum' Rod Bolt clearance between the Pan Rail and the bottom of the cylinder.

I'm on my 2nd time around and Paranoia has taken a grip. I was told .060" was the target but after the fact it became .060" Maximum. (This came from a local race oriented machine shop that I would consider a good source).

It just strikes me that an honest .040-.045" should be safe!

Agree, Disagree or just your Opinion?

I've usually considered .050" the target... some people will run one with .030", but that seems a bit risky to me.

I think anything around than .035 or more is fine. That is what is piston to head clearance normally is and i think that should allow for any movement at the bottom also.
