I have a budget of $9446 to be excact, and wonder what kind of power I can get.
The 305 is a nogo I guess, thinking a 4 bolt 350 with a blower, and perhaps a lt1 fuel injection, and sickly enough, I want it to be a daily driver in summertime, that's the reason for the blower.
Other than that, I thought a powerglide to keep cost down, but a beefed 700r4 would of course be better, but perhaps blow the budget. All overdrive trannys would be a plus.
Any Hp figures that's possible?
The car is all stock rearend, and everything else, well except for the NOS.

well how about this
Shafiroff
Or if you really think you need a tranny too how about
TPI Crate Motor which will leave you a good amount of money left over for beefing the rest of the car.
Or check out the selection on ebay
Ebay complete engines
If you shop around, spend carefully, and do as much as you can yourself that kind've money will get you quite a bit of power. Don't forget to budget for getting yourself a new chip or the stuff to burn your own.

Thanks, yes I've seen siome of the good deals on ebay, but I think I'm to scared to get ripped off, and then I wont have any engine. A long way to go and make complaint also.. lol.
I was thinking of bying from someone reputable
i was only thinking about some kind of ballpark figure here, not complete buildups or anything. But I do have a wish to build something myself.

I'd like to stay standard small block at this time, to be able to use some of the parts I already got, and so on. And to be able to do this in a semi "bit at a time".
I have thought quite alot abot it, Bigblock, Ls1, 406, or even a 427 smallblock. But the way I see it, one would probably get most bang for the buck with a blower on a 350. Even when one count in the additional power needed to overcome the weight factor over an Ls1. And it seems unnecessary to pay the extra needed to get a 406 when the blower will make them put out about the same numbers. Correct me if I'm wrong.
