Hypertech Ls1 Low temp thermostats waste of money or not?

My question is are the hypertech ls1 thermostats a waste of 50 bucks?
I see that the claims are that you can make more hp from running cooler, but wouldent a 5 dollar robertshaw high performance thermostat
do the same thing? I Duuno? any thoughts?

They only work if you recalibrate the fan "on" temp. with a HPP3 or equivelant.

As far as a $5 thermostat, not in our LS1s, the thermostat comes as part of the housing and hose outlet.

If memory serves me right, they are about $35.00 for a stock one.
