budget 350??? please help, i'm clueless
i have an 89 iroc 305 tpi the only things in the drive train that havn't been replaced are the mtor and trans. I want to keepit auto so i am looking at a rebuilt 700R4. and now it comes down to the motor. want to stay Fuel Injected. and there are really no reasonable or trust worthy shops near me. So i guess i am in a rock and a hard place.
I am looking for around 300hp something to put me into the low 13's. the budget is as low with out making scarfices for power or drivablity. i am willing to spend the extra cash as long i get a good bang for the buck. thats al i am asking.
please help me i have been thinking abou a few motors.

Well heres an Idea Ill just throw out for ya:
Get a rebuilt L98 shortblock, Lt4 hot cam( with 1.5 roller rockers to make the lift like .460 instead of the like .500 advertised lift with 1.6's), Aluminum L98 vette heads (have them upgraded to handle the higher lift and ported if you have enough dough). And of course youll need headers and a 3 inch exhuast plus your gonna want at least 3.42 gears. The only problem you gonna have is the TPI part youll need a hole new manifold, plenum, runners setup if you actually want to take advantage of the new stuff. I would go with the holley stealth ram conversion kit(gonna cost you about $800 altogether for that). You also need a few things to swap from 305 to 350 but I dont know what they are. Anyways this motor setup will be good for an easy 300 hp mid 13's and youll have a smooth running daily driver with decent gas mileage. This is just my two cents however if this idea doesnt sound good to you ignore it. Good Luck.
