Need tap size for balancer bolt holes...
Need tap size for balancer bolt holes...
The damn holes in the harmonic balancer that hold the crank pulley on are stripped (well, just the 1st 3-4 threads)--what tap size is needed to clean them up? Also, does anyone know the size of tap needed for the big bolt that goes into the crank that holds the balancer on?
I hate balancers, I ****ing hate them!!!

If GM kept things the same, my V6 uses a 12mmx1.50 bolt for that center balancer-to-crankshaft-snout.

What engine?
If it's a small block V8, the balancer bolt 7/16"-20 and the pulley bolts are probably 3/8"-24, but might be 3/8"-16
