Would this be a problem...pics of keyway inside
I pulled the timing sprocket off the crank, as I will be replacing the timing set, and I noticed that there is a small piece of the woodruf key(I think thats what its called) is missing. The balancer and crank pulley were missing on this engine when I got it. Now, the missing piece stops where the edge of the timing sprocket sits. There is enough there to hold the timing sprocket, no problem. However, I don't want to leave it like that. Where can I find a replacement from, and what can I use to take it out without scratching the crank?

Take it out with a small chisel, or even a screwdriver; they come right out.
You can get a new one at any auto parts place. I've even gotten them before at Auto Zone.

Got the first one out (the one thats not broken) without a problem, came right off. The broken one didn't come out so easily, and took a few minutes. I'm gonna replace them both anyway.
