Do you have a way to check the fuel pressure to see if it's dropping out on ya? I don't see why it would prime but not stay on.

And you've got no fuel rail access ports anywhere? No schrader valve? Man, that does kinda suck... How are you even supposed to utilize an adjustable regulator without a gauge?
I only really want to know what your pressure is to see if your fuel pump is cutting out on you.
Does it abruptly stall, or get choppy, stumble, and turn off? Have you tried giving it gas when it does this to see if it keeps running or gets worse? And after it stalls, is it a hard restart?

How is the pump wired in? If it's still running after the stall pull a line if you have to to verify that it is working. No, strike that, plumb something in to check. If it's a regular carb and the pump is set up for 7 -9 psi, put in a clear filter right before the carb so as to eliminate the fuel system to that point.
