Idle problem
Idle problem
Just finished replacing the intake manifold gaskets on my 90 formula, 305 TPI. It started fine, but ran super rough initially. Thought, hmm, maybe I mixed up a plug wire or the timing is way off. Plug wires are fine, timings only off by a degree or 2. Then the idle smooths out. Still open loop, but decides to run better. So I take her out for a test ride, and when I come to a stop, the idle hunts, drops real low, then comes back up and smooths out. Oh yeah, its a manual trans. Its now doing this every time I come to a stop, sometimes stalling unless I give it some gas. Tired, so I didn't check much, figured I'd see what anyone thought. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Vacuum leak, IAC, EGR?
If I am correct (I am learning about these TPIs as I go), isn't the EGR connected to the intake manifold. Could possibly have a vac. leak there. I don't know if that would affect in open loop, however.
