pistons and deck height

i'm trying to achieve a 10.5 - 10.8 c/r on my 383 stroker rebuild w/ 64cc heads. my question is, would it be better to go with a stock deck height and flattop pistons, or deck the block and use dish pistons? i know a tight quench is desireable but if i have to go with dished pistons that pretty much negates the quench effect, right? and of course i could save money at the machine shop by not having to pay for decking. which is the best way to go?

never done it but if i were building a preformance engine i'd go with zero deck and dished pistons along with small chamber heads. from what i've read and understand that makes the most efficent and effective combination as far as getting the fuel lit.

Zero deck, 4.030 bore, -6cc SRP flat top pistons, 3.75" stroke, Felpro 1010 head gasket, 64cc chambers, calculated to 11:1 with a few different calculators I found on the web, and also in DD2000.

Quench is the height of the compressed head gasket at .039.

Tried 3 different cams. Needed some overlap to prevent detonation with anything less then 93 octane. The dynamic compression ratio was too high with the first two cams.

Now I'm using a cc306 camshaft and fuel milage has gone to crap but it's always ready to run.

Zero detonation on 93 octane.

I run a very agressive timing map as well.
