I have 3 damaged injectors I found while replacing my intake manifold gasket. 1 I am shure I need to replace. The tip of it looks like the bottom picture, it is cracked and the nozzle is loose. The other two injector nozzles have chips missing from them. They look like the top picture, the chip in the picture is to scale. The injector o-rings are ok and the injectors did not leak when I took them off, im sure i didnt damage them when I removed them, (I was carefull). Do i need to replace the chiped injectors? Will they be ok to use since they dont leak? I dont want to buy them If i dont need to, Thanks

I don't think the chip will affect the performance. But the one that has the loose nozzle should be replaced. You might be to get a whole used set, clean them and replace the bad ones. I got a good set of used one in the classified section here for $20. Then put them in F/I cleaner for a while, Replaced the o-rings and installed them. They work great.

I am going to put it back together this week, so I will probably just buy one new one tomorrow. I thought about soaking them. I was wondering if it would be safe to let the tips sit in carburator cleaner for a while, or should I use fuel injector cleaner. Im sure I should take the O-rings off first.

Here's what I did.
Take the o-rings off
Put them in a shallow pan
put them in pairs.
Tilt them together, where the electrical connectors go, so it doesn't get into the solvent.
then put the cleaner in the pan until it covers the nozzels. Let them soak for a while, then shake them out.
Put on some new O-rings with some Vasaline, and reinstall.
It worked for me and a couple other guys I know.
