Is the choke in full operation?

any easy way to find that out? Is the PCV supposed to rattle?

Im not the most proficient as to how the choke itself works, but it sounds like it may be sticking closed at times. Perhaps others can shed light on that.

As for the PCV, a operational PCV has a little valve inside it that is supposed to rattle. So yes, if it rattles it is good.

yes, TBI systems have the IAC. However, if your engine is the LG4 like in your info, then you have the 305 with a carburetor. Unless you swapped to TBI...

I have narrowed down the problem by swapping my girls carburetor (I love having camaro clones :-)..) with mine, could it be the EGR valve? and if so can I just rid the engine of all smog equip, I kind of like hers better lol
