Rough idle at times

I recently put a rebuilt engine in my 87 camaro tpi and got most of the bugs out and got it running finally. I had idle issues ever since i put it in, but finally got it to the point where it stays running. However, sometimes when i come to a light and sit for a min or two, it will all of the sudden start idleing real rough and the o2 sensor light will come up, once in a while stall, but usually after a few seconds of this it will idle smooth again. Then after about 10 secs of driving again the light will go off and everything will be fine. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? Thanks

The O2 sensor light? I'm assuming you get a check engine light, and you pulled the code and it was an O2 code. In that case, is it a rich or a lean code?
