Q: What size springs and what size studs are in a '91 "9C1" L05 350 - cst iron heads?
This may seem Off Topic but it isnt. I am going to rebuild a '91 350 engine from a Caprice interceptor (L05 9C1) and drop it into my '87 GTA TPI (350). Wanted to know what size studs are in the (cast iron) heads of that engine and what size springs are in there. Going to drop a ZZ4 cam in there and wanted to get the specs down before I bought valve train parts. Thanks!!

Studs are 3/8", springs are 1.25" diameter. You will definitely need new ones with that cam.

yep i agree with RB, mill the stud boss down and tap it for screw in studs and buy springs that match your cam.

Thankyou for your replies. It is critical info. Any recommendations on springs and 1.5 rockers for this? Any kits around that you guys like; would avoid? Thanks!
