Gasket Material/Grit in intake ports...

I asked this question before, kinda, and didn't get much response, so I'll ask it differently. I am changing the intake manifold on my L03 to an Edelbrock Performer TBI. The old manifold was really dirty, I cleaned it as much as I could before taking it off. However, when I did take it off, some grit/dirt/gasket material must have fallen in some of the intake ports and into the lifter area. I have since put paper towels in the lifter valley and stuffed them in the intake ports on the heads to prevent further debris as I scrap off the old gasket material/dirt. How bad is it that some little pieces of dirt and crap got into my intake ports on my heads??? I will be changing the oil after I am finished installing the intake too.

Don't blow a gasket over it. I mean you, not your engine. Clean it up as best you can, screw it back together and turn the key. It'll be fine. Do you think the guys who turn wrenches at the dealership or the local garage are half as careful as you were? Probably not. Have no fear. You'll be fine.

Thanks guys, and Damon, you are right for sure! I'm just a perfectionist so it'll take me awhile to finish her up.
