Simple fuel injector Question

can you have too big of an injector? i have some 39# fuel injectors that i want to put in my iroc (old ones leaking) and i just want to know if they are too big. it seems to me that 39# is the maximum they can flow, and the injector pulses with control how much fuel it will give it. or am i wrong and the 39# will give too much fuel? im basically stock, pushing about 260hp.

They are too big. Based on the formula for figuring which size injectors you need, I wouldnt go more than 24#. With a stock 305 I would stay with 21#.

i THINK the stock sizes were 21# for the 350 and 19# for the 305.

39# would be HUGE for it.

to use thoes, you would need someone to burn you a new prom.

the computer pluses the injector for a specific amount of TIME. if the injectors are sized properly, that gives it the correct amount of fuel.

but if the injector is too large, then when its open for the same amount of time, it flows more. and the car runs rich.

Yes,

19# for the 305...my bad. I dont think 21# would bother anything if he has MAF system. It's pretty flexible for small changes. Stick with the stock injectors tho. They're not that expensive to replace either.

ok, i was wrong about the size of the injectors, i found some info on the web from:http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tableifc.htm
its gave me the following info:
Bosch Part Number 0-280-150-556
lbs/hr 18.25
cc/min 191.8
rating @ PSI XXX
rating @ BARS XXX
.42 BSFC - Est. HP Duty Cycle (80% 34.8) (95% 41.3)
.47 BSFC - Est. HP Duty Cycle (80% 31.1) (95% 36.9)
.52 BSFC - Est. HP Duty Cycle (80% 28.1) (95% 33.3)
.57 BSFC - Est. HP Duty Cycle (80% 25.6) (95% 30.4)
Impedance High

Can someone dumb this down for me i would be able to figure it out if it gave the rating @ psi but it doesnt. they are bosch injectors for ford, they say ford on the side of the injector. but what ever.

if i remember correctly the ford fuel pressure is 39 and gm is 43.5 so with that i get the equation 43.5 X 19 = 826.5 / 39 = 21.2lbs.
is that correct? i would be running these injectors, and they would act like 21lb injectors?
