No, people are reluctant to answer as a good case of PITA seems to be permeating the boards lately.
Unless you want to rev the wee out of the motor, are going to un-naturally asperate it, or make huge amounts of power, your 2 bolt block is fine.
Reliability will rest with your building skills and how often you feel the need to keep you foot in a horozontal position for extended periods of time.
What parts you need will entirely depend on what you want. Really, we need to know what you're planning. Street only? Street/strip? Is affordability your main concern?
I've seen some nice 355's and 383's built with cast crank and cast pistons and they have had a ton of happy miles put on them while still having fun with it's capabilities. Yes they have had some power. They can be built to be about as reliable, if not more so than, stock GM motors. Yes cast pistons. People still use these in builds. It all depends on what you eventually want.

You look like your just learning english, simple answer:
No splayed caps needed
Are you using fuel injection or a carb?

very funny!! my goal is to had a good setup between 325 and 400HP with the most of my parts....i have a 350 roller block with an 305 LG4 i think that i can take the crank of the 350 and the rod too....i want new pistons, cam i've already the intake manifold and i run a stock rochester....did i have to replace it?? Can it be a good set of head if a put 1.94 intake valve on my 416 LG4 head??? this is the later model of 416 with center bolt cover....
