Funky new problem...
Ok, had a wierd new problem arise tonight, I was tinkering around then headed to the gas station. Figured I'd blow the last few drops in the tank and have some fun, so I punched it while going down the road. Right when it downshifted and the RPM's jumped, the gauges went dead. The gauge lights worked fine (was at night) but no gauges at all (tach, speedo, voltage, etc etc), but the choke light also came on, which NEVER comes on....EVER...
Well it blew a fuse in case you didnt guess yet. So now I have a problem with blowing the gauge fuse every time I wanna get on it (situation is duplicable)?? Is this some divine sign saying I need to cool it with my lead foot before I get in trouble, or what? Seriously, does anyone have a clue/guess, or some closely related experience or situation?
WEll, thanks. I might be digging through this one for a while.

just an educated guess but id say you have a wire grounding out somewhere ....could be wrong but like i said its just a guess couldnt really say for sure without knowing for sure what you were tinkering around with before you headed out with it ?

Oh, I was just playing with the carb.
Ya, you'd think its something grounding, but....question is, what...haha. Nothing's changed since yesterday...and the day before...and the day before...and....
And yes, I got on it those days too. This is the first it's done this....wierd.

I'd check to see if your alternator belt is still attached. Since you were messing around with the carb you might have bumped one of the alternator wires and it just happend to get grounded when you were testing your new adjustments. Of course you should check the fuses also.
