Q: Trusted mechanic's in SE Michigan who can assemble engines? On forums or not..

Hey guys. Just looking for anyone on here or anyone you guys know of in SE Michigan who can be trusted to do some/assist in doing some engine assembly work. In particular, installing cam and train into rebuilt block and overall making sure we dont miss anything or just doing it themselves. There are many places around here but I dont have experience with them nor do I know if I can trust 'em. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing. I think that I am going to try it myself to get the experience. I always wanted to try.

I assemble engines at an engine machine shop here in texas. It's easy. I think my best advise would be to have the #1 cylinder at TDC b4 u start. Then dont turn the engine till your ready to set the lifters.

I have a guy in WIlliamston named Dave Wood who is assembling engines for a couple of race teams. Very picky, very busy. If you want one done right, take it to him. It's about 30 miles west of Howell.

Dave Wood,

He's doing my 385 engine, once I finally get the 4340 stroker crank in his hands!
