New Lifters, Install Prep

I'll be installing new lifters to see if that is what's making all the rachet in my engine. This is on an 87 LG4 engine, so it is roller lifters.

Is there anything special I need to do to them before I fire the motor up?

depends on what you mean by special. you need to ahve the valves readjusted and the timing set close enough to fire.

Have you used a stethoscope to make sure it was your lifters? It's really rare to see the roller lifters go.

Yeah roller lifters dont typically fail... If they do and you replace them they'll likely fail again because something else is causing it.
