Adjusting Rockers

Just a quick question, I am going to do a set of roller tip rockers on a friends 87 305 I know to adjust them until they don't turn anymore plus 1/2 turn. My QUESTION is do I do this with the valve showing closed?

Thanks for the info

Brian

yep with the valves closed. i measure from the top of the stud to the nut with the depth rod on a dial caliper and then when i put the rockers back i just tighten the nut down until i get the measurement. works great unless you have poly locks

For performance, try going to 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Make sure you do ede's stuff before putting the snap ring so close to the pushrod.

Basically it alleviates some of the lifter pump up common with any hydraulic. You don't want to ride right up on the factory paper-clip snap ring though. It could pop off if you don't make sure you're on the base circle. This probably will give you a little more rpm's.
