lateley I have been having a problem with startup idol.
usually after sitting for awhile the motor will fire right up but the RPMs will drop immediately back down and I have to gas it a few times to stabilize the idol.
after a given amount of time that seems coolant temp related the idol "suddenly" smooths out.
I have a mystery coolant leak and also a new oil leak from my pass side head to block seal.

well with the oil leak and coolant disappearing I thought I had narrowed the idol down to the head gasket and was planning to change heads anyway.

but this is where it gets wierd, today I start it up and for the hell of it bridge the ALDL for field service to see what is going on and BAM!!!
the idol snaps to attention and smooths right out. I take out the bridge and back to clug clug clug.

what can I link this behavior to??
does this indicate a possible problem with ECM or fuel pump circuit.
I know I have fuel system problems b/c i have intermittenly gotten code 54 for years and will replace the fuel pump relay soon
but this idol problem seemed to pop up lately with the oil and coolant leaks.

what gives???

What kind of idol leaks oil and coolant and has a problem starting up? Bad behavior needs to be attended to immediately, BAM!! BAM!! Give it to that idol good!

Sorry.. lol.. I would fix that fuel problem before you attempt anything else, you know how important fuel delivery is. If you suspect a bad head gasket, you better check that out as well. Take care of what you know is wrong first.
