Hey I'm new here.....

Hey I'm Kyle, i'm 18 yrs old and live in Toronto Ontario Canada.
I've found myself in a dilemma as i wish to buy a new car but can't decide on a 5L mustang or a 5.7 trans am/IROC. The 5L's look ok and go fast....But i am partial to the Trans Am GTA body and the IROC is pretty good also. On the plus side for the F bodys...insurance is cheaper and good specimens seem cheaper also. So what kinda times can i expect outta a 350 TPI trans am with some aggressive gears and simple mods? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

welcome to the board

I would say get the F-body, I like pony cars ok but they pale in comparison to a trans am or camaro. as for how fast it would go, that depends on what you want to spend. or as someone is sure to put it... . ohh not to mention the 5L mustang is only a 302ci and the f body is 350ci. just my opinions though

I agree the Iroc or trans am is a much better looking and running car than the stang. The stang is only a 5.0 anyways as for the trans-am or iroc/z28 which is a 5.7. You can get even more performance out of it with a simple shift kit and performance chip.

Go with an L98/G92 IROC-Z or 91-92 Z28 IMO.

Theres no 5 speed because the 5 speed couldnt handle the torque from the 350. If you really want a stick the 6 speed from the 93-97 f bodys is about as close as you can get to a "bolt on" for a trans.
