Motor out and In, Now Vac leak...

Car searches for idle no matter how I adjust it, and Likes to Die when Put in Gear. Feels like a Vac leak to me.

For the specifics, its a Lg4 with performer RPM intake, XE262H, new lifters valve springs and timing chain. Lash is set pretty close But Ive got one ticking sounds like.

The leak is between the Manifold and the head, I think anyhow ( carb cleaner spray test ).

I put the Manifold onto the Gasket dry cause it was brand new, But had reservations about Doing So, And Now It seems I pay the price.

Do the symptoms sound like a vac leak ? On wednesday Im going to pull the manifold and Do it up with RTV. What gaskets do you guys recommend ? I just used the felpro Cam change set from summit, But some guy was mumbling somehting about aluminum intakes and special gaskets to me, Im not sure...

lastly, Anyone else out there who has put a performer RPM onto their thirdgen, how the hell did It fit under the hood ? even with a pro-flow ****ty edlebrock cleaner, It wont fit. I havent tried the stock one yet, but it dosent look good for fitment either.

I have some Edelbrock air cleaner I had to cut the lip off of it that raises it and cut two holes in ot to make it sit farther down on the carb.

Whemn you change your intake gasket spend the $90 and buy a Weiand Stealth, you wont regret it. I had the RPM and now have the stealth.

Thanks perp, Was that a Roud open element style cleaner you used ?

AS for swapping manifolds, Im 150$ into this one, Plus it is shown to make good power on y combo and I know others here have made it Fit. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

Now does anyone have any confirmation on my Vac leak suspicion ? Im fairly sure thats what it is, But im neither too proud nor too stupid to not ask for help.

Thanks.
