Help with Knocking Noise at Wheels

Hopefully someone can shed some light on the subject. I have a 1992 Z28 that I just bought. When I bought it, when I turned the wheel all the way there was a slight knocking noise, sounding like it was coming from the left front.

Now, I can hear the noise after I drive for awhile and then I drive slowly (around 5 mph). That's the only time I hear it. I can also hear it sometimes when I'm backing up going straight.

Its sounds like metal hitting metal, like a bar has some loose or something.

That description may not be very good, but its the best I can do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

This may not be it, but when my front struts wore out, and the gas charge had leaked out, the strut would knock at the top strut tower when the body went slightly up and down.
