The connecting rods on my friends 302 are able to mvoe back and forth on the journals a few thousandths of an inch. Is this okay?

Okay I just found out there is a spec for the amount of play. Does anyone know the spec for a Ford 302, or where I could find it? I guess I measure it with a feeler gauge...GMTech, Vader, ede??? anyone?
