Qs about L98 vette swap
I'm seriously considering swapping a 91 corvette L98 in place of my 305. I've got a 91TPI. What sort of modifications will I need to make? For example, will the accel intake base match up to the vette heads? Or will I need to get the center bolt holes machined? Will the intake ports match up at all? And do I have to get an extra hole drilled in the passenger side head for my accessory brackets? Will my Edelbrock TES headers work with the vette heads? What about the EGR? I don't think it will work with the vette heads, so can I just leave it off, or at least non-functional? And for the fuel rails, I've heard that they're bent differently. Can I just use the rails off my 305 with the vette #24 injectors? I suppose I'll need a new knock sensor and PROM. I guess my main concern is making those heads work. If anyone has done this, please tell me what all I need to modify to make this work. Thanks guys.

Yes the Accel base is drilled for both bolt patterns, it will fit the L98 heads. Yes the intake ports are the same and will match up. I had to drill and tap a hole for the accessory brackets in my L98 heads. Your Edelbrock headers will bolt up, but the L98 heads have a D-shaped exhaust port that is different than a standard f-body head. Plus those headers have small ports anyway and probably wont line up correctly. I suggest the SLP 1 3/4" headers, but I'd suggest those anyway over the Edelbrocks. The Corvette L98 uses a tube off the #8 exhaust port and routes it to the port on the back of the stock intake. This port is also on the back of your Accel intake. You can leave it blocked off, or hook it up like I did. Yes you can use your 305 fuel rails instead of the Corvette rails. I think L98 Corvettes had 22# injectors, same as the f-bodies. Yes you'll need a new knock sensor, but you dont exactly need a new prom. A new prom is preferred but not mandatory.
