more fuel pump questions.

not sure of how to word this.

is there such a thing as too large of a fuel pump?

am i correct at assuming that it wont cause my engine to run more rich, and it wont be harmful, and all the extra fuel delivered will be returned to the tank VIA AFPR bypass outlet.

i ordered a 140 gph pump for 70 dollars...great deal. i plan on running this pump on my very moded yet NA 305 but in the near future adding a 125-150 shot. so the pump is more than enough.

im just wondering if more than enough is harmful when it comes to fuel delivery.

As long as you don't over power your regulator and your return line is up to snuff you will be fine.

the only time that the pump is too large, is when your return cant return enough fuel to maintain the set pressure.

fuel return lines are the stocker steel lines.

AFPR is the mallory 3 port 80 dollar one.

Irony, i paid more for my AFPR than im paying for my flippin fuel pump....

thats kind of odd eh?

im guessing i shoulda shopped around for my AFPR but i needed one pronto......

EDIT:::::

go figure, i search some more and found a rebuilt holley Blue with an afpr for 65 shipped. but the afpr doesnt look like it has the fuel return port....just looks like one inlet, one outlet....

just out of curiosity, how much hp can a 140 gph pump handle?
