lost rpms
Alright here a tech question.
i can't figure out why in the blue hell my car can't reach 5000/5500 rpms anymore at full throttle it seems to be screaming at 4500 and take forever to get there.
before i put in the msd and the rear i used to hit those rpms with ease.
could it be the rear? i still dunno what gears are in there they might be 2:7? i was told 3:23 but im not sure
or i was thinking the carb is out of adjustment or the fuel pump going
heres the rundown of what i got
350 ci 5 speed
msd 6al w/ msd internal coil
accel cap & rotor
comp cams timing chain
holley 670 street avenger w/ 1 inch spacer
edlebrock performer manifold
flowmaster muffler
msd super conductor wires
posi rear
i know it can be a bunch of things but has anyone ever had this happen or here of it?
thanks

You using a factory tach? They are known to 'rebel' against you when they get into their teen years
If its not the tach, then I'd say its probably ignition related, for 2 reasons:
A) 99% of carb problems are actually ignition problems.
B) You said you put in the MSD just before this started happening.
If its not one of those, you might have a fuel delivery problem and might not be getting enough. Have you changed your fuel filter lately?
