starting issues

Let me start by saying this is the the first time I've driven this car. After getting my mechanical fitness, I was preparing to drop my car off for emissions testing. Since it sat for the last 7 months, I figured Iwould give it a good run to clean all of the crap out of it. Secured a dealer plate from a friend and went to get gas. Noticed it took 4 or 5 cranks to light, after I fueled up. Whatever, I thought. Drove on the highway for 10 to 12 miles, to another buddies house where I washed it. Started after a couple cranks at his place. Did a couple of brake torques for him , and went to buddy's shop. Put 'er up on the hoist, changed the oil and filter and the fuel filter. Lowered the car, filled with oil, go to start it and it spits a couple of times, then nothing. Spinning good and quick but won't catch. Time to break out the scanner. No codes. I can here the fuel pump priming and the relay clicking. OK lets check for spark. Lots of spark, nice and blue. Attach a fuel pressure guage. 40 psi with key on, 42-45 psi while cranking. Alright, let's see if the injectors are getting signal. Hooked up the noid and it's lighting up. So now I'm thinking WTF. Played around with connectors and stuff for a while, then said F*** it and gave it some ether. Fired right up and ran like a champ. Drove it home, runs real strong, sat and idled, no hesitations.

It has rotor, cap, wires plugs and fuel filter replaced. TPS and timing adjusted. IAC and throttle body cleaned. Injectors resistance tested......etc

Kind of difficult to pass emissions when it won't start. Ideas????
P.S. sorry for the novel

Have you changed the gas? 7 months may be a little long for that gas.

Is this on the '89 GTA? If so, next time it won't start, go unplug the MAF and see if it starts then.

Yes, it's an 89 GTA. 5.7. Thanks red devil, I'll try that today.
Fuel is fresh.

Just tried the car. First try it started with about 6 cranks. Second try it fired after about 10 cranks. Third time.... no fire. Unplugged MAF, no different. Just rolls, no sputter. Turns over very quickly. I dunno

Definately is heat related. Fired up fine this morning and when I got home from work. Let it run until the fan kicks in (105* c) Shut it off and it won't retsart. IAC? Ignition module? Coil? Anyone?

Bad ignition modules will sometimes start when cold and fail to start when hot. If you do wind up replacing it, be sure to clean the area of the distributor and apply a good coating of dielectric grease to the bottom of the ignition module
