what are the signs of a bad M.A.F. sensor (besides the code)?

the car may run better with it unpluged and or the wire looks broken. (in my experience) There is probably another culprit if you are getting a code that tells you there is too high or low of a voltage at the maf. Some repair manuals come with a troubleshooting guide for the maf and other things. The most common problems are listed first, id start there and work your way through them.
