how effective are under drive pulley's?

Car: 91 firebird formula
Engine: 350
how effective are under drive pulley's?
I've been thinking about installing underdrive pulley's for a while, but am wondering how much extra power they'll free up, and is it a noticable power gain. Are they hard to install? I have a 91 formula 350, if anyone has the underdrive pulleys installed I would appreciate hearing about how the car runs with them installed as compared to without.
