BIG problems...please help

Guys, I got to the track on saturdaynd went to run and before I got to the starting line, the car spit and sputtered and just stopped. They pushed it to the pits and I checked the plug gaps and they were ok. I then got to the line on the next pass and when the lights came down I mashed it and from then on even now there is like a 2-3 SECOND hesitation. 2-3 SECONDS!!!! What is the problem? I run 93 or 94 gas like I have for the last 3 years. I put on a new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and still a 2-3 second pause. When it quits bogging and catches it will rip your head off. The oxygen sensor was changed less than a year ago when the headers went on. I got a bosch so I think it should be ok. (theroeticly) All the sensors check out in the shop with proper readings and the fuel pressure is also the correct psi. Any suggestions? Please help guys. I am SO screwed. It is my only car.

Thanks
Eric

Perhaps ignition module? Have you check the fuel filter in awhile. Man,it could be so many things.
Double check the timing and TPS.
Let us know.

I know. I hate the fact that it could be so many things. Too muck can go wrong to cause this and they get pretty costly to keep guessing. Is my fuel filter in the tank with the pump?

Your fuel filter is under the car on the driver's side, just in front of the rear axle. 10 minutes tops to change it out.

This might sound crazy, but are you using a 14x3 air filter?

I heard once that on the auto cars, the 14x3 filter is so big that it can take a bit for the air to get moving inside the filter.

I think it sounds like BS, but crap, there's a last resort option for ya

Mac,

I thought that I heard that also so for the last ditch effort to fix it, I have been running with NO filter. Didn't help so I put it back on. I just noticed that I have a broken sensor under the passenger side header. I just found out that it is for my fan. I am hoping that maybe the computer can't find this sensor and so it is running lean or it is in limp home mode. This may be the cause of my problem. I am hoping that once I fix this in the morning that the problem will be solved.

Eric

P.S. How do I get hte computer out of limp home mode if in fact that is what it is?
