dizzy out 180 and still runs??
Check this out. So, I'm trying to figure out my no start when hot. Testing everything I can before I start throwing parts at it. Pulled the cap to check pickup and to clean the module. Put it all back together and figure I'd check the wires (in case a couple were mixed up). Trace #1 back to the cap and it's where #6 should be. WTF?? Check it a couple more times and sure enough it is at #6. The firing order is correct and it does run strong when cold. The timing checked out at 6* with EST disconnected. Is this possible??? I haven't been drinking........ yet. When I swapped out the cap I just went wire for wire. Guess i should pay closer attention.

Yea, so long as you know what piston is at TDC you can put your wires accordingly anywhere you want so long as the firing order remains the same.

The way you describe will work just fine. It will have no effect on the advance whatsoever. The only problems you can have when this happens is the wires wont all be long enuf to get to the cap, but yours seem to be long enuf to make it work.
