Correspondence w/ Edelbrock about TPI to multipoint...

I wasn't sure where to post this. General engine seemed the most appropriate. I wrote an e-mail to Edelbrock's EFITech to see if their TBI-multipoint kit would work for our cars: Here's what I got back:


Dear Madam or Sir,

I am interested in purchasing part #3502, your TBI-to-multipoint injection system, but was planning on installing it in a 91 Camaro RS into which I recently installed a 5.7L engine. I noticed that the description said that the TBI-EFI system was for trucks and wondered if it could fit my particular application. If not, what makes this system not compatible with GM cars such as the F-Body and Caprice? I am sure you get this question a lot, and appreciate you taking the time to answer it, as I could not find the answer on the FAQ board. Thank you.

In a word it is the (Computer). If you use a Truck Computer that is for the same transmission as you have in the car everything else will be OK.
The problem that could cause is trucks up till 93 met different standards than did cars and that could be a problem when trying to smog the car.
If you decide to change everything then send us the chip card with a letter so that we may help you.
