now, i know about and use desktop dyno, it works great, but what about the 1/4 version, i know there is another one, that u transfer your files from desktop to this program and it calculates your 1/4 mile e.t. i know it is out there i jsut need to know what site, and what it is called!

You dont really need the desktop dyno software to get that info. Theres a million calculators out there that will ESTIMATE you ets based on engine or wheel horsepower and your cars weight, gearing, ect. I dont really by into all that as there are to many factors that determine what your car will run. Best bet is to run it at the track. I wouldnt brag about any times unless i had the timeslips to back them up.

yeah, as he ^ said, you can run a million calculators and get the same results from them but there is one factor they can never compensate for, and thats the driver, when u shift, how hard on the throttle you are, etc. etc. best way to get ETs is to throw $20 at a track and test n tune!

Yeah but some people by these programs just for fun, and to play around with certain possibilities. Also it gives you a decent ball park figure of what your car is capable of. But like they said it really isnt something you want to put 100% faith in. Its not very acurate.

I have Both

I have Dyno 2000 and Drag 2000, and yes it is very fun to build your motor and test it at the 1/4 mile. If you know the DA and wind, humidity, and elevation of where you are then it should be fairly accurate. The only thing that is not accurate is the 60 foots, they are slow on the computer. First i built my motor on the dyno software and entered things like Vortec flow numbers and the specs for the LT4 HOT cam. Then I did all the rest of the fill ins. After that I imported that motor into Drag 2000 and set up the weight of the car, front and back, set the transmission, gear ratio, and shift points and weather. I got the simulation accture ate to withing a tenth of what I acctually run! Very fun to swap transmissions, and gear ratios. Also to try different shift points. Hope this helps.
