Is there an easy way to determine the CR of an engine?

The '87 Formula I have was originally a LG4. A prior owner swapped a 350 shortblock (reportedly from a truck?) into the car.

Is there any easy way to tell what compression the engine is running at?

No sense in building an NA performance motor around 8.5:1 CR. LOL!

Thanks!

Take it apart and cc it. What's so bad about 8.5:1 compression, anyway?
