ok right know i have a 85 z28 with a 305 and i was offered to buy a 350 that was taking out of a 70 pick up for 75 dollars he has the heads the intake it runs but it needs to be rebuilt is that a good deal and how hard would to be to swap it with my 305

 

RElatively easy to swap.

If it's the stock 70 truck heads and intake, leave them behind when you pick up the block. But "taken out of" and "came in" might be 2 totally different things, given that it's a 35-year-old truck. So it would be worth getting the casting numbers if there's any doubt what they are, and identifying them precisely.

As far as a good deal, that's about what a core 350 short block goes for; so it's not a particularly good dela or a bad one.

 

not all 350's are created the same.
but if you ar ewilling to rebuild it go for it. It can also be a learning experience if you do it yourself. I have a 350 block in the garage and heads, exhaust manifolds, I just need everything else, and the money to buy them
