speedo cable lube...which to choose?
speedo cable lube...which to choose?
Searched a lot and found varying suggestions including white lithium based grease and graphite spray. Not sure which I should use since I saw another post saying he found out using grease is a no-no. Does that include white grease? Why would grease be bad? Can anyone shed some light on this?
thanks.
thanks.
Sure - Everything in Ontario is great now. Grease up the old cable, slide it in the housing, and enjoy silent, smooth operation. Or, at least until November arrives and the thermometer drops below 0°. Then that nice, slippery grease is going to act like glue on your speedo cable.
Try dry graphite - The same lubricant the factory used.

most chemical companies make a dry graphite lubricant in a spray can.
