fuel pressure

have a problem!.doing whats supposed to be a simple fuel filter change is givin me alot of ****!.Im sure everyone knows that to take the pressure out the fuel lines you have to take out the fuel pump fuse n let it run till it stalls out.Well on my iroc the fuel pump is sharing the same fuse with fuel injector and it wont start up at all....any ideas on how to do it without just disconnecting the lines and getting gas everywere????.

thanx

That fuse for the injector does not control the fuel pump on your car. I know it says FP-INJ2, it doesn't have anything to do with the fuel pump. The fuel pump fuse is the 20 AMP fuse located near the battery. It will either be on the fender or mounted behind the right headlight by the radiator. Also remove the gas cap first.

You can also pull the relay. Its on the firewall on the driver side.
