intake is off
I got my intake off, managed to break the thermostat housing and one of the connections on the sensor, the vacuum lines i think? Are they hard to ccome by, the housing and the plastic pieces the vacuum lines connect to?
Also found a huge clump of carbon build up on one of the ports on the heads, there was maybe a half inch of space that wasnt covered, I had to get it out with a screwdriver it was so bad. Has anyone ever run into that problem? My car was running rich and I am putting a new intake on and I found this build up and it didnt look to good lol.
I'm also thinking of getting a new distributer to, any suggestions on a not too expensive one for a nearly stock none ECM car?

They block up all the time. Very common.
Accel, MSD, Summit, Performance Distributors are sources for large-cap coil-in-cap HEI.
Thermostat housings are available at you local parts store.
There are 2 sensors on it; one is the coolant temp sensor for the ECM, which you don't need at all; the other is a thermal vacuum switch for the EFE (heat riser) valve. Also widely available at the parts store if you still have the EFE.
