burning oil???

i have a 1987 camaro with a 305 tuned port, i had to rebuild my lower end this year so why i had the motor out i put new umbrella seals in because never were changed, and it would smoke when first start. when i put the motor back in car when i get off the gas or take off fast it smokes pretty good never had this problem before does it sound like a seal pinched or piston ring ? any info would be great
thank you

Well if you used just umbrella seals, I would say you should have went with positive seals.

yup, Umbrella seals aren't the best form of valve seal out there, but they aren't the worst, either. Most positive types require machining to the guide boss. However, Fel-Pro makes viton seals that do not. Assuming factory guide boss size, SS72527 is the part number for the intake and SS72877 is the exhaust. They can be had at Advance Auto, or any other Parts America store.
